In addition to being the most eastern region of Italy, Puglia, with about 800 kilometers of coastline, is the biggest coastal region in Italy. One of Puglia\u2019s major cities Lecce is a cultural capital of Europe in 2019. It has two fantastic areas &#8211; Salento, which is called Italian Maldives, and Gargano which is in the north of the \u201cheel\u201d. It owns several pieces of UNESCO World Heritage, like Castel del Monte. Not enough? Choose Brindisi if you want to spend your vacation in Salento and Bari airport if you will stay somewhere around Bari or around Gargano.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When flying from European countries consider what such companies like Eayjet, Wizzair flies to Bari, Ryanair to Bari and Brindisi. All the South, wherever you go in Italy, moves only by car. The public transport is present but in a few quantity. Taxi is present only in bigger cities like Bari, Lecce, Brindisi. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Otherwise you\u2019ll be constrained stay mainly in the same place or overpay for transfers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Book the car very in advance, using for example Rentalcars website or Maggiore. it<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3932\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5814.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tip #3 Choose the area and your perfect beach to stay<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before choosing the area\/city where you\u2019d like to spend vacation choose the sub-region. Puglia has 3 sub-regions: Gargano, area around Bari and Salento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Gargano<\/strong> in the North is rocky, <strong>Salento<\/strong> has sandy coasts, area below<strong> Bari<\/strong> is cliffy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My personal choice is Salento!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Salento<\/strong>, which I told you about in details <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feetoutofbed.com\/gallipoli-italy-italian-maldives\/\">in my previous post<\/a>, starts below Brindisi around the coastal towns in from of Lecce at the Adriatic side and finishes near Punta Prosciutto, Porto Cesareo at Ionian side. Everything is full of restaurants and other infrastructure all around.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From Gallipoli you can move towards <strong>Porto Cesareo and Punta Prosciutto.<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beach clubs. Bahia Porto Cesareo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Togo bay beach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another spots \u00a0which attracted my attention is to the north from Porto Cesareo are <strong>San Pietro in Bevagna<\/strong> and \u00a0<strong>Campomarino di Maruggio.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>These are two small summer villages near the sea with caffes, seafood restaurants, etc. It is a good choice especially for families as it is more come area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7434\" src=\"https:\/\/test.feetoutofbed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img_7186.jpg\" alt=\"puglia food restaurants\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7421\" src=\"https:\/\/test.feetoutofbed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img_1771.jpg\" alt=\"beaches in Puglia\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to escape from noise, go to the South of the \u201cheel\u201d towards Pescoluse. Pescoluse is definitely a paradise. Calm and peaceful.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want a mix, here is the list of most precious beaches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here I do love couple of masserias which you should give an eye. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/it\/masseria-palane.en.html?aid=1349891&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=1\">Masseria Palane<\/a> <\/strong>is a newbie among the masserias in Salento, located in Pat\u00f9, 3 kms from sandy beaches. It is a good option to easily reach both Adriatic and Ionian coast.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ionian coast best beaches<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Punt\u0430 Prosciutto &#8211; is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Salento;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Torre Castiglione,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">San Pietro in Bevagna,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Porto Selvaggio which is a National park.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Adriatic coast best beaches<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just in 8 kms from Otranto there is Porto Badisco, which is another breathtaking location.\u00a0<\/span>Baia dei Turchi,\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Torre dell\u2019Orso, Grotta della Poesia,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Castro Marina,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Santa Cesarea Terme<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Where to stay in Puglia?<\/h2>\n<p>If you dont want to spend a lot of money for accomodation and have a very cute mini hotel, I advice you to go to Manduria, which is located 10 kms from amazing beaches. My prefered bed&amp;breakfast here is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/it\/sine-tempore-b-amp-b.en.html?aid=1349891&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=1\">Sine Tempore<\/a><\/strong>. This b&amp;b has got an amazing atmosphere due to a big Italian garden, terraces and really nice rooms. So be ready to find yourself in a totally authentic Italy. \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And I will start to think about making video lessons of Italian language \ud83d\ude00<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tip #5 Choose the right time to come to Puglia<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to dive into Italian lifestyle choose July and August. Starting from August 15 all the Italy go on vacation. Obviously, in Puglia, this is the highest season and the prices triple.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to be in a desert or at least calmer atmosphere choose beginning of June and September.
